PED Technologies Ltd…  a 40 year adventure!

1973 PED (Process Equipment Developments) started in a modest garden shed in the village of Wilby, Northants by Alfred Staden. The business originally made heating products for the local Northamptonshire shoe industry.
1974 Son David joins the business and premises are rented in Strode Road, Wellingborough, Northants.
1975 The business is incorporated in the name of PED (Staden) Ltd.
1978 PED relocates to larger rented premises in Sanders Close, Wellingborough.
1980 New footwear manufacturing products developed, manufactured and sold across the UK with the first export sale to Australia.
1983 PED now employs 12 good people and achieves turnover of £560,000 with a healthy profit.
1984 David becomes majority shareholder and purchases larger premises at Mallard Close, Earls Barton which are rented to PED and the start of many successful private ventures in commercial property for David in the UK and the USA.
1987 Sustained export drive established given the demise of UK manufacturing. Dave visits over 30 countries.
1988 Alfred Staden retires.
1989 Brian Cheney joins PED ultimately becoming Finance Director and keeping the business on the straight and narrow for over 25 years!
1989 Design and development of sports shoe production lines for New Balance in the USA which ultimately leads to huge sales in Asia to Nike, Adidas, Footjoy and many others. Asiaped opened in Taiwan with support offices in China and Indonesia.
1990 Mallard Close factory extended. Acquisition of Advanced Statics provides entry into large scale automotive equipment sales in the UK and overseas.
1992 Established manufacturing facility in Kentucky USA.
1992 UK operation now employs 45 people with turnover in excess of £5,000,000.
1993 Queen’s Award for Exports with David Staden, David Fairhead and John Green representing the company and meeting HRH Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
1994 David and Wendy Staden visit Downing Street and meet Prime Minister John Major.
1996 Acquisition of Northants Sheet Metal Fabrications.
1999 Total restructuring of PED UK operations largely due to the collapse of UK manufacturing and the forced redundancy of many excellent people…our darkest hour.
1999 Move to new premises on Park Farm, Wellingborough. PED acquires worldwide distribution rights for Thermotainer and other insulated container products.
2000 New production facility opened in the USA.
2001 PED UK acquires PAF Systems, a company specialising in process equipment for the electronics industry.
2002 Development of Action Station wall mounted product line.
2003 New PAF products designed to serve the aerospace, pharmaceutical, automotive and education sectors.
2004 Development and launch of PAF System 7 workshop product line.
2007 Dream Garage product launch.
2008 New pick and pack work cells designed for the growing e-commerce sector.
2009 PED acquires sole UK distribution rights to Ecoloc interlocking flooring products. David’s son Tom joins the sales division.
2010 PED designs and manufactures Tellytainer flat screen transport system.
2011 PED acquires distribution rights for Avatherm and TKT insulated container products.
2013 PED project manage large technical disposal of specialist equipment for the biggest DVD/CD distributor in the UK.
2014 First large scale roll-out program of technical furniture for the retail sector and the launch of bikeboss for the cycle industry.
2015 PED acquire European distribution rights for ALP Synergy products (insulated bulk tub containers).
2016 PED acquire UK & Ireland distribution rights for Overath products (expanded polypropylene foam insulated containers).

We have employed and still employ great people whose dedication, commitment and loyalty have enabled us to survive and prosper sometimes against ridiculous odds.  We have made long term friends of many of our customers and suppliers.
